January 2013 – The Strokes' “One Way Trigger” The Strokes decided to preview some new music in January so they dropped “One Way Trigger.” While the band's return this year was unusually quiet, “Trigger” on the other hand is a loud and frenetic track. It opens to a clunking start before quickly picking up with A-ha-inspired synthesizers. This rock song has an electronic and experimental edge, but it is still very much a Strokes' piece when guitarist Nick Valensi drops a dive bomb guitar solo onto the production.
